How does the plate scanning feature work?

Simply open the app and tap "Start Scanning," then point your phone's camera at any vehicle's license plate. The app will recognize the plate number and, if that vehicle is registered on PlatoScan, you'll be able to send a chat request to the owner. This allows you to connect with other drivers without needing their phone number or social media.

Can anyone message me if they scan my plate?

No—your privacy is protected. When someone scans your plate, they can only send you a chat request. You have full control to accept or reject any incoming requests before a conversation begins. You can also disable chat requests entirely in your Privacy & Permissions settings if you prefer not to receive any connection requests.

Is my phone number visible to other users?

No, your phone number is never shared with other users. It's only used for account verification and login purposes. Other users can only see your profile name, car details, and bio—and only if you've accepted their chat request or have your profile visibility turned on.

Can I register more than one vehicle to my account?

Yes! PlatoScan allows you to add multiple car registrations to a single account. Simply go to your Profile settings, navigate to the "Registrations" section, and tap "Add New Registration" to link additional vehicles. You can also remove registrations at any time.
